Blended with Love | Garnier Ultra Blends Review

Like most other children of the 90s, I have fond memories of being introduced to one of Garnier's most popular products - the Ultra Doux hair care range, at the age of 9. The signature fragrance of that hair care range and the iconic bottle is simply unforgettable. So, when the brand recently invited us for a sneak peek into their all new hair care range at an event in Mumbai, we were thrilled. More so, because it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate their new launch and get a little nostalgic too. After all, we've had several beautiful memories of holding that bottle, shampooing our hair (leaving the bathroom smelling all good) and flipping through our luscious locks as children. Honestly, the launch couldn't get better, as Garnier surprised us with a collection like no other.

Yes! You read that right. The brand launched an all new Garnier Ultra Blends range, which consists of five lovely blends, that cater to different hair types and problems. Much like their gorgeous range, the set up at this launch event too was one of a kind. We were mesmerised by the sight of the nature inspired decor and product counters with matching ingredients arranged in a wonderful way. After an introduction to the new launch, some trivia and a glimpse of the product campaign, we got a chance to go through the entire range, one by one.

The Garnier Ultra Blends range includes:

☻ Garnier Ultra Blends Royal Jelly & Lavender: For hair fall / scalp prone to hair fall. Promises to strengthen hair and reduce hair fall 

☻ Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds: For damaged hair. Promises to repair and restore hair

☻ Garnier Ultra Blends 5 Precious Herbs: Contains Green Tea, Henna, Lemon, Aloe and Eucalyptus. Recommended for healthy hair. Promises strong, bouncy hair and a healthy scalp

☻ Garnier Ultra Blends Henna & Blackberry: For dull, dry and lifeless hair. Promises vibrant hair with a brilliant shine 

☻ Garnier Ultra Blends Mythic Olive: Blend of Olive Oil and Olives. Recommended for dry, undernourished hair. Promises silkier, smoother and shinier hair

Each blend is unique and different from the other, and aims at providing excellent results for the hair type that it caters to. For someone who is quite picky about the kind of ingredients used in a product, I was very happy with the detailed blend guide that is printed behind every bottle. It's always great to know what goes into the making of your go-to shampoo and conditioner. Plus, every scalp / hair type needs specific care. You cannot use a shampoo meant for oily scalp on an individual who has a normal scalp. The Garnier Ultra Blends range takes this important point into consideration, and has carefully combined blends to match every hair / scalp type. 

Personally, I loved the Mythic Oil deep nourishing shampoo, which worked well for my hair. The texture of this shampoo is very rich (it's virgin olive oil, after all), with a lovely fragrance. It cleans the scalp well and leaves your hair feeling soft, nourished and silky. I am looking forward to trying this shampoo with the recommended conditioner, since I am quite happy with the results so far. Another favourite has got to be the Henna & Blackberry blend (quite uncommon from what we get to see in the market today), which has a divine aroma.

Price: Shampoo - Rs 55 / Rs 120 / Rs 230 / Rs 430 (for 75ml, 120ml, 340ml & 640ml  respectively)

Conditioner - Rs 70 / Rs 175 (for 75ml & 175ml respectively)

Packaging: Beautiful is the word. The Garnier Ultra Blends range comes in the iconic, beautiful bottle that Garnier is well known for. The bottle has a flip cap, which is handy. It's quite decent to carry as well, as the product does not spill out from the bottle.

Verdict: The products from this range have got everything that you need to flaunt naturally beautiful hair. Highly recommended for it's VFM, great packaging, perfect choice of ingredients and variety. Move over 'same old boring shampoos for all', because Garnier Ultra Blends has got something special for everyone and that too, beautifully blended with love.
